Using BB Cream To Conceal Uneven Skin Tones
March 27, 2012
If you haven't heard yet about BB creams, you are sure to hear about them soon. All the buzz in cosmetics these days seems to be revolving around these new skin care products. The BB stands for 'Blemish Balm', which gives you a pretty good idea of what they are used for. This product was first created in 1967 by a German doctor named Dr. Christine Schrammek. She used it as a treatment for post laser surgery patients. The idea was that the product could both protect and alleviate the post-op skin while concealing and covering blemishes. BB creams though made their way into prominence however more recently through the Asian market. They became particularly popular when a well known Korean actress, noted for her flawless skin, went public with the fact that she used BB cream to attain her beautiful complexion. From that point forward BB creams flew into prominence riding at the front of a wave of Korean cosmetic business. Soon after they made their way to the American market and are now becoming very popular as everyday cosmetics.
So what are BB creams made of? The truth is that most BB creams are made of a mix of cosmetic ingredients you may already be using. Most brands contain some combination of primer, moisturizer, sun screen, and or foundation. BB creams tend to give the skin a smoother more even and brilliant appearance. Some say it gives them the "dewy" complexion they see in Hollywood. Additionally the moisturizers and vitamins they often contain help to heal blemishes and other forms of uneven skin tone. Most of the more popular products come in several shades to suit multiple different shades of skin tone.
Finally then, why are these BB creams so sought after. The truth is that they have a host of beneficial characteristics. First off they do a great job of not only covering blemishes and uneven skin tone, but they simply make your skin look great. Many people use them simply as a foundation with no other makeup other than some lip balm. They are much lighter than powdered foundation, so they look more natural and allow the skin to breathe and doesn't clog the pores. Secondly, they typically have a beneficial effect on the skin. Because many of the BB creams contain moisturizers, vitamins, and other helpful ingredients, they help the skin to become healthier and more beautiful while you wear them. Additionally, the more you wear the BB creams the more time they have to repair and rejuvenate your skin. Lastly, because most BB creams contain some sort of SPF, they protect your skin as well. So in short, BB creams conceal, repair, protect, and beautify all at once! This makes them extremely popular and a great value.
At your local cosmetics store you can most likely find a host of different BB creams. Spend some time researching what the best brands are before you shop. Also make sure you take time to find a BB cream that works well with your natural skin tone color. You won't be disappointed with BB creams when you try them and they will certainly help with concealing, healing, and preventing uneven skin to...
